Our TK-2nd grade primary school program is designed to lay a strong foundation for future academic success. We emphasize phonemic awareness and number sense to prepare students for independent reading and learning as they progress into elementary school.
Our primary grade students enjoy a well-rounded curriculum that includes Language Arts, mathematics, religion, science, social studies, spelling, and handwriting lessons. Weekly sessions of PE, music, art, and library time foster both their physical and creative development. Our teachers are highly qualified, holding credentials and/or master's degrees, and they work collaboratively to ensure a seamless progression from one grade to the next. This collaborative approach ensures that each student receives a consistent and comprehensive educational experience.
Elementary School: 3rd-5th
Our elementary school program is designed to challenge students academically while fostering independence and responsibility. We offer a range of programs to meet the diverse needs of our students. For our highest achievers, we provide accelerated learner programs that push their intellectual boundaries. Our grade-level students engage with a rigorous-yet-attainable curriculum that ensures they are well-prepared for future academic challenges. For those needing a little extra support, we have targeted interventions to help them succeed.
Throughout their elementary education, we emphasize the development of independence and responsibility, equipping students with the skills they need to become self-reliant and accountable learners. This comprehensive approach ensures that every student can reach their full potential in a supportive and challenging environment.
Middle School: 6th-8th
At St. John the Evangelist (SJE) School, our middle school program provides an outstanding high school preparatory experience for our 6th-8th graders. Our junior high students benefit from daily physical education as well as weekly classes in art, music, and computer skills, ensuring a well-rounded education.
In addition to these enriching activities, students are exposed to the diverse teaching styles and expectations of subject-specific teachers, which helps them adapt to different learning environments. Our dedicated junior high team collaborates closely to ensure that students are fully prepared for the increased independence and responsibility they will encounter in high school. This comprehensive approach equips our students with the academic skills and personal growth necessary for a successful transition to the next stage of their educational journey.

At St. John the Evangelist (SJE) School, we cherish the unique benefits of a TK-8th grade environment, where students are encouraged to enjoy their childhood while growing up in a safe and secure setting. We believe in the importance of allowing children to develop at their own pace without the pressures of growing up too quickly.
One of the key aspects of our approach is that we do not allow cell phone use during school hours. This policy ensures that students are free to play, interact, and engage with their peers, fostering genuine friendships and social skills. Additionally, we pair our 5th-8th graders with TK-2nd grade buddies, creating meaningful mentoring relationships that promote a sense of responsibility and care among the older students while providing the younger ones with positive role models.
