Academic Competitions

SJE participates in all four of the academic competitions hosted by the Diocese of Sacramento, as well as the SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee.


The Mental Math Bowl is open to 1st - 5th graders.


The Academic Decathlon is open to 6th - 8th graders. Our 4th and 5th graders are able to participate at the school level during their Flex period.


The Religion Decathlon is open to 5th - 6th graders. Our 3rd and 4th graders are able to participate at the school level during their Flex period.


The Speech Contest is open to 7th and 8th graders.


SJE participates in the SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee. The top 2 spellers from each 5th - 8th grade class participate in the SJE Spelling Bee. The winner of the SJE Spelling Bee will complete at the regional SCRIPPS Spelling Bee.
