At St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, parent involvement is more than volunteering, it is an essential part of who we are. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school creates the best environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Our parents are active participants in the life of our school, generously sharing their time, talents, and resources to enrich the educational experience for every student. Whether volunteering in the classroom, coaching athletic teams, helping with school events, serving on committees, supporting fundraising efforts, or attending Parent Socials, our families play an invaluable role in building the vibrant, welcoming community that makes SJE so special. This spirit of collaboration strengthens the relationships among students, parents, faculty, and parish, creating a close-knit school family where everyone is invested in the success of our children. At SJE, we don't just educate students, we build a community. Together, our families and staff create a supportive, faith-filled environment where every child is known, encouraged, and inspired to reach their God-given potential.
Volunteer Hours
All families contribute 40 hours of volunteer time toward our community. Many parents volunteer as coaches, room parents, event helpers, field trip chaperones, and librarians! We have many ways for parents to jump into our community and find a way to experience SJE alongside their children.
Monthly Parent Socials
Our monthly Parent Socials are a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, build friendships, and stay informed about what's happening at St. John the Evangelist. Open to all parents and guardians, these informal gatherings provide a chance to meet other parents, hear school updates, and strengthen our vibrant school community. Parent Socials are held once each month at 6:00 p.m. at Mark's & Monica's Family Pizza. Meeting dates can be found on the school calendar. To help families stay informed, the agenda is posted on ParentSquare the Monday before each Parent Social, and minutes are shared on ParentSquare the Friday following the meeting. We encourage all families to attend—we'd love to see you there!
Mom's Bunco Group
Looking for a fun way to connect with other SJE moms? Join our Mom’s Bunco Group, which meets quarterly for an evening of laughter, friendship, and a little friendly competition. No Bunco experience is necessary, just bring yourself and be ready for a fun night out! Whether you're new to the school or a longtime member of the SJE community, Bunco is a wonderful opportunity to meet other moms, strengthen friendships, and enjoy time together outside of the busy school schedule. We hope you'll join us at our next gathering!
Dad's Club
We're excited to launch the SJE Dad's Club, a chance for fathers, grandfathers, and father figures to get together, meet other SJE dads, and enjoy some well-deserved social time. From casual dinners to sporting events and other fun gatherings, the Dad's Club is all about building friendships and strengthening connections within our school community. No pressure, no commitments, just a great opportunity to connect with other dads and have some fun. We hope to see you there!
Grandparents Club
The SJE Grandparents Club provides a wonderful opportunity for grandmothers and grandfathers to become more connected to the life of the school while building friendships with other SJE families. This group offers a welcoming environment to gather, socialize, and celebrate the special role grandparents play in our community. Throughout the year, members will enjoy opportunities to connect with one another, stay engaged with school activities, and strengthen the bonds that make SJE such a special place. We invite all grandparents to join us as we build a vibrant community of support, friendship, and school spirit.
